Brim ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Brim stores all data locally on your device. We do not operate servers and do not receive your personal data. The following data is stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad:
With your explicit permission, Brim reads the following data from Apple Health:
Brim writes your logged water intake back to Apple Health as dietary water. HealthKit data is never transmitted to external servers.
Brim Pro uses Apple WeatherKit to fetch the current outdoor temperature at your location. This request is handled entirely by Apple. We receive only the temperature value — no precise location coordinates are stored by us. You can revoke location permission at any time in Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Brim.
Brim Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Subscription status is verified locally through StoreKit 2.
If you enable reminders, local push notifications are scheduled on your device. No notification data is transmitted to external servers.
Brim uses no advertising frameworks, no ad networks, and no cross-app tracking, and we never use your personal or Health data for analytics. To understand which screens lead people to our Pro offer, Brim sends a small number of anonymous, aggregated events — only when the Pro paywall is shown or its upgrade button is tapped — to a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service (GoatCounter). These events carry no personal data, no account, and no device or user identifiers, and cannot be linked to you, your hydration entries, or your Health data. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous usage statistics.
This website uses the same cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics (GoatCounter) to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third party.
All app data is deleted when you uninstall Brim from your device. You can also reset all data within the app via Settings. To remove water intake data from Apple Health, open the Health app and manage it there.
Brim is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy. The latest version is always available at brimtracker.com/privacy.
